Opposites Attract But Find Common Ground

The Cowboy’s Romantic Dreamer (Saddle Springs Romance Book 3) by Valerie Comer

5 stars

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Cowboy Romance

Location: Saddle Springs, Montana

Romance: Some light kissing, very clean

Faith: Strong faith elements as characters learn to overcome past hurts to trust God.

Valerie Comer delivers another enjoyable story in the Saddle Springs series with this opposites-attract romance. Although, as Trevor and Denae get to know each other, they realize they have some similarities beneath the surface.

True to her writing style, Comer presents us with another strong Christian hero with some flaws and a totally different personality from the other heroes in the series. To me, this is the mark of an excellent writer: developing diverse characters with distinct personalities, strengths, and weaknesses from novel to novel. This is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to the books in this series.

The heroine in the story deals with some past abuse and an eating disorder which she is relying on God, counseling, and others to help overcome. I appreciated the realistic way Comer dealt with this subject from both the hero’s and heroine’s perspectives. Neither took these events lightly, and they sought God in their relationship and their trials.

I strongly recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance or clean cowboy romance. Comer delivers another engaging read with some surprising twists.
