He needs a nanny…
But what about love?
With two kids and a ranch to run, Bryce Carter needs a nanny for the summer. And professional barrel racer Carrie Rizzo might be perfect, at least until she returns to the rodeo in the fall. But while Carrie’s incredible with his kids, Bryce isn’t ready to open his family—let alone his heart—to anyone…even if she might be the perfect cowgirl for him.
My Review
4 stars
Jen Gilroy delivers a sweet, slow burn romance that tugs at the heartstrings.
Widower Bryce hires Carrie as a nanny for the summer to watch his two kids. Carrie, taking the summer off from barrel racing, is an amazing nanny. I loved the way the author made Bryce’s kids a central part of the story.
The romance between Bryce and Carrie builds slowly and I liked the way the author wrote them to be sensitive to what the kids might see in their romance. I was pleasantly surprised to find Bryce’s mom’s point of view in the story as most of the time Harlequin romances only include two POVs. Her character leant some of the dramatic tension to the story.
Fans of clean, sweet romance will enjoy this story. It’s also perfectly clean and suitable for a YA audience, even though it’s geared towards adults.
