What does Solana Vargas really think about Adan Franco?

Karen: Today, my guest is Solana Vargas, the devoted cowgirl from Falling for a Devoted Cowgirl. Thanks for joining us.

Solana: Thanks for having me.

Karen: Can you tell us about your role at Vargas Guest Ranch and Resort?

Solana: Sure. As you know, the ranch and resort have been in my family for three generations now. I first started working at the ranch when I was a Junior in High School. I worked in the dining hall back then.

After I graduated from high school, I started working at the front desk on the resort side. Going on almost six years now. Aunt Catalina said it was important for the guest experience to see the staff in authentic western wear. That’s always been fine with me. I love my black cowgirl hat and jeans.

Karen: Why do your family and friends call you a devoted cowgirl?

Solana: Though I don’t see myself as anything special, I think it’s because I’m always ready to help. Especially if Adan Franco is doing the asking. All he has to do is use my nickname “Lanni” and I go all soft and gooey on the inside. I’ll help him if I can.

Karen: Adan Franco? Isn’t he the famous pro bull rider?

Solana: Yeah. He’s a three-time world champion. I still remember watching him on TV when I was twelve. He retired and started working as a wrangler at the ranch about ten years ago. He’s always been a gorgeous man. I have—er, used to have a major crush on him.

Karen: Hmm. Sounds like there might be something between you two?

Solana: Wouldn’t that be amazing? But no. He sees me as his best friend’s little cousin. I don’t think he’s noticed I’m a grown woman now.

Karen: Are you sure? I thought I saw the two of you dancing at Candi and Drake’s wedding.

Solana: Sure. We danced. One dance. Then his jealous date whisked him away.

At least we’ve developed a strong friendship over the past five years. We can pick up in the middle of a conversation without missing a beat. I may dethrone my cousin as his bestie soon.

Karen: Would that make you happy?

Solana: What would make me happy is Adan’s wedding ring on my finger and babies of our own. But that ain’t happening.

Karen: Sorry to hear that. Maybe you need something that will shake up his life to get his attention.

Solana: I wouldn’t hold my breath.
